I kept seeing those "haute42" leverless fight sticks on Amazon, and I thought, "I could build one of those, and I could probably even make it more portable."
So I did!
It's right about 3" by 5", the size of an index card. It has four directions, start, select, and your six attack buttons.
I'm still terrible at 2D fighters, but this thing registers as a Switch controller, so you can play on the Switch or your phone with an OTG adapter.
Right now, the buttons are Up, Down, Left, and Right on the left side, then Start and Select (Plus and Minus) in the middle, then, from left to right, LB, X, RB, Y, B, A.
I think that, if enough people express interest, I'll swap out one of the bumpers with a trigger so you have access to the entirety of functions on Smash Bros. It would be both, so you could like, hold UP while connecting the USB, then it will register as a type of Smash Box, I think they're called.
I've got a few extras of these, if you'd be interested in picking one up. I'll add a video soon of it in action.
